About Our School
And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour because he has regarded the lowliness of his handmaid; for, behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed; because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name and his mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear him." (Luke 1:46-50)
On September 7, 2010 Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School opened its doors for the first time in our temporary location at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Elementary School at 161 Meadowlands Blvd in Ancaster. Our new location proudly opened its doors on April 27, 2011 on the site of the former Ancaster Fairgrounds located at 470 Kitty Murray Lane. Our school originally opened for the 2010-2011 school year with students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade Seven. For the 2011-2012 year our school welcomed students from JK - Grade Eight. Our Junior and Senior Kindergarten students benefited from our first year of the Full Day Early Learning Program.
Our school namesake honours the grace in which the Blessed Virgin Mary was born to become the mother of our Saviour. The tradition of our school takes root within the parish of St. Ann, Ancaster which includes the schools of St. Joachim and St. Ann, ( Mary's parents), and Holy Name of Mary. Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School is named after our Mother, Mary who was born without original sin and we continue to bless her and pray to her as she brings our prayers to her son Jesus Christ.
We welcome you to our website and invite you to explore the many aspects of our school life where love of God, knowledge and service to others is our focus each and every day. Our school motto "Devotion, Service, Discipleship" speaks to our work as a Catholic family working together as one with home, school, parish in partnership together to grow in faith and love with Jesus Christ as our teacher and Mary as our model disciple.
